To celebrate 90 years of Coes we’ve curated an exclusive collection in partnership with Santinelli, Oscar of Sweden, Sunwill and Barker Shoes.
Menswear buyer Matt Rawlings has curated a limited-edition collection exclusively for Coes. Working closely with some of our top suppliers, the range is available in-store now and online.
“Whilst selecting our AW18 ranges, I realised we enjoy fabulous relationships with our suppliers and these should be celebrated during our 90th anniversary.
Starting with a wardrobe ‘must have’ blue blazer, we made some subtle changes to last season’s shape and had it made up in the softest, woollen herringbone tweed, sourced from a mill we’ve used for more than 25 years and by a manufacturer we’ve worked with for almost a decade.
To complement the blazer, I approached Oscar of Sweden to produce our anniversary shirt. Established in 1949, we discovered Oscar on a product finding trip to Scandinavia in 2009, and soon became the company’s first UK customer. Selecting fabric, buttons, floral trims and thread, we have created, in our eyes, the perfect shirt. Using a ‘Liberty-esque’ fabric, the whole look comes together with matching pocket square.
Danish trouser house, Sunwill was enlisted to produce the collection’s chinos. Recommending a luxurious cotton twill, we based the fit on a reworked version of a popular pair from AW17. And for a touch
of individuality, Oscar’s floral shirt trim has been tastefully used on the seatpockets to stunning effect.
To finish the outfit, a pair of shoes and matching belt was needed. With over 135 years of English tradition behind the brand, we headed to Barker shoes in Northants. Taking with us some of the navy herringbone tweed used in our blazer, Barker’s team handcrafted a small production run of exclusive shoes featuring our fabric insert. The idea of a matching belt came from them, with the help of a small leather goods maker, based locally. Our 90th anniversary collection now complete, we’re nothing short of delighted.”
