I know I shouldn’t generalise, but it never ceases to amaze me how the shopping habits of the two sexes vary.  At this time of year, it is more obvious than ever – perhaps due to the number of purchases that revolve around events such as summer weddings, balls and holidays or maybe the sudden change of weather is to blame.

When it comes to men, a large number tend to leave shopping to the last minute, resulting in a brief flurry of activity and a trade-off between what’s appropriate and what they actually feel comfortable in (hardly surprising, given the time allocated to achieving the objective). Women, on the other hand, tend to start their review of options far earlier in the season. Although I’m generalising, women will often look further afield before reaching a purchasing decision, even once they’ve seen something they like.

To get the most out of your wardrobe, a timely review of what is required for each event is a good place to start. From this point onwards, purchases can be planned methodologically, enabling you to create an outfit that both deals with the impending event, yet is versatile to cover a range of other occasions. By carefully selecting accessories, it is possible to create a multitude of looks that can be mixed and matched as required. This is where I like to think our team come into their own, giving good honest and helpful advice that helps to make your purchases go that extra mile.  Hopefully, mostly all of you take an organised approach to shopping for the season – however, for those of you who favour the last minute rush, we’ll see you Friday at 5.45!
